Hey Kev, that doesn't look too bad at all. Have you tested its operation to see of the light is spreading out evenly?

I temporarily connected it to the car battery terminals and they all lit up perfectly in a nice circle of closely spaced segments.

No thanks Jalal.
At the moment I'll keep my personal "one-of-a-kind" mod emoticon

Re: Interior Light

Just a thought!! - and I haven't yet investigated this idea.

As some of us will soon be running power from the dome light to the key light, why don't we fit a small lamp fitting to each of the front foot-wells that will operate at the same time?

They should be very easy to wire in but we would need lamps that did not draw too much current as we don't want to be blowing fuses or overloading the switch. Perhaps they could be attached just under the dash or even hidden up behind somewhere.

Does anyone have any ideas on a suitable and cheap lamp fitting and any advice?

PS: I think I have sinned and posted this in the wrong section - sorry!

Re: Interior Light

Hi John,

I have a question.

What is the purpose of a foot-well light?

Also, there are plenty of ready-made illumination neons exactly for that type of project which you can find either at Jaycar or even K-mart. They plug straight into the lighter or have wires to connect them to a power source. You can get them in all different colours too.

OK Guys, in regards to the key light, I have the following update.

I have received the first batch of 3 keylights and the following members will get them soon (as per the group-buy list)

1. Brett72 (Brett) *POSTED*
2. NPC73 (Noel) *POSTED*
3. Doctor X (Domenic) *will collect*

I am getting the rest of them next week and will post here when I start sending them out.

Re: Interior Light

Hi Guys,

I have received the rest of the key light rings today, so all outstanding orders for this group-buy will be actioned tomorrow and will be posted.

Those of you who have chosen to pick them up, please contact me. (Domenic, you've done so already)

EDIT: Just a small clarification in case you have missed in my previous posts. The Key Light Ring does NOT come with wires, the photos you have seen in my report had the key light ring with wires that I made myself. It comes with the light bulb fitting which has 2 pins to connect the wires to.

Re: Interior Light

Brett,

I had these connectors in my garage, but basically they're the smallest type you can find for speaker wires. I think Jaycar got them.

I'm sorry but I don't know what size they're.

You can also look at the option of soldering the wires to the 2 pins.

The reason the wire harness is not included with the key light is because the harness is usually part of the car and to get it, Nissan would probably would want to sell you the entire dash emoticon
