Mate what you will have to do is test fit the tyre on it and give it a good shake just to make sure that the pivot hinge can handle it.
I can't see how it can as the tyre is more heavier than 2 or 3 bikes.
The higher the tyre, the worse it gets for stability, you really need a brace on roughly a 45 degree angle to one side to keep it sturdy.

The T31 goodies just keep coming and this time I found something really nice:

High quality rear wheel carrier. This unit, designed for the current model Nissan xtrail, features strong bracing right back to the chassis. Other features include gas strut for ease of use holding the wheel in open position and quality over centre latch with positive locking mechanism. Powder coated Black.

Here is some additional information and pricing for you:

Pricing as follows:

$1200.00 (incl. GST) plus fitting $300.00 (3.5 hours)

Freight to Sydney (if fitted in Sydney) will cost $40.00 and it can be freighted to anywhere in Australia and installed at authorized centres Australia-wide. (freight at cost)

All orders require a deposit before order commences.

Delivery time is app 10-14 days from order.

Orders can be placed through the Online X-Trail Shop.

P.S. Dave: You can clearly see how much your design for the T30 can end-up costing and what sort of potential you have if you think about this seriously. If you need help in making your design commercially available, please let me know and I'll put you in touch with someone in the industry who can make it happen and where you can benefit from it too.

Regarding wheel covers with the forum logo. This will be arranged when we start selling some of these wheel carriers.
