How to keep your items in the cargo area?

Hi all!

I use to keep some items with a genuine cargo net and a optional cargo barrier net in the cargo area. But sometimes, these items are sliding here and there inside the net. I can't only tie them up well with the large net, but also it is not smart.

I have no plan to keep items simply and completely in there.
Please let me know your idea how to keep them well?

To stop the items from sliding at the back, get yourself a boot carpet or rubber matt. This will do the trick along with the cargo net you already have.

Thanks Jalal emoticon

That's a good idea!

I think to install a shelf in a cargo area and cover it with a net.

How do you think?

Hi Yasu,

Not sure what you mean by shelf??

Hi Jalal!

My plan is not a such big project!
Now I imaged to set a small and low hight rack into the cargo area.

I want to keep some items for my exy(Wheel/Window cleaner,Wax,Toolbox and Spare parts etc..)with it. hehe emoticon

Yasu F.
Mate, I have already designed a shelf system for the rear of the exy. I haven't built it yet, been too busy. I will try and scan it on and attach for you to look at. Basically it consists of a shelf about 15cm high, which enables you to fit 2x low-profile plastic storage containers under it for all your goodies. Top is then covered in marine type carpet.

I guess now I better get on and build it. emoticon

Re: How to keep your items in the cargo area?

Here (for what it’s worth) is my solution to cargo storage:

Firstly, I have carpet on the cargo floor. Next I have these:

Image

As you can see, they’re both different sizes and can be “arranged” to suit your needs

Image

BUT, they’d be in the way if you need to carry something bigger….not a problem, they fold and can be placed anywhere out-of-the-way.

Image

If you have needed to put the seats down, they can be stored under the front seats.

Image

With the cargo blind partially down, the containers (and their contents are somewhat out-of-sight)

Image

Here’s the real beauty of these - - you partner/wife and her friend/relative go shopping together - - they place their parcels in individual bins and eliminate the hassle of sorting thru the bags to find out who owns what at the end of the trip.

Additionally, when grocery shopping we add a third one (if needed). Upon return, a maximum of 3 trips to the house with containers et al as opposed to multiple trips with a handful of bags each time.

Don’t really need the carpet in the cargo area if you want to stick some “rubber” onto the bottom of the containers.

These are available at most “big-box” stores and the price is quite reasonable. They come in different sizes. Have been using ours for quite some time now and wouldn’t be without them….

Cheers

Edited to replace pictures.

If you're only storing a few small items you'll rarely use, why not use empty space above the spare wheel? In the aussie version there is also a little compartment under the boot floor on the opposite side to the wheel brace and jack.

I have a cheap 12v air compressor, heavy-duty jumper leads, tyre pressure gauge in the compartment above my spare wheel. I can't fit the puncture repair kit and rescue bag there as well, but I might be able to if I try to pack them in properly.

Of course, I'm already keeping some items in
that space.

I want to keep more large items in the cargo area. emoticon

Thanks Rich !
