Re:

old thread but I just dialled the number, used options (secret) 0 and then 2 and the guy was all to happy to find my code for me, unfortunately my VIN is also one of those that is not on their system - so the suggestion was to go to a dealer who may charge up to and over $100 for getting the serial number off the stereo and looking up the code that way emoticon

Anyone know of any other alternative that does not involve money ? i.e. someone in Perth who works for Nissan?? emoticon

Re: HOWTO: entering the radio's PIN and recovering from ERR

Dear Mr President. What a win. I got rid of the flashing airbag LED AND recovered my stereo code. Thanks to you and the forum and Kloster Nissan in Hamilton, NSW for helping me solve two annoying issues. So you can hack the X-Trail?
 Love it!

Re: HOWTO: entering the radio's PIN and recovering from ERR

I have just had this experience after disconnecting battery for electrical work.
When you reconnect you get the 4 zeroes to enter the code.....as mentioned in other posts the 1,2,3,4 buttons are used to cycle in your pin code...the last number remains flashing...press and hold button 6 until the radio is operational.I f the code is wrong it tells you so and gives you two more chances until it locks you out

Re: HOWTO: entering the radio's PIN and recovering from ERR

I have a 2007 Ti, with a Nissan radio which includes a 6-CD stacker. After I had to change the battery this locked and since the vehicle was bought second-hand I didn't have the unlock code. After much hassle contacting Nissan Australia and my local dealer I was finally given a 4-digit code which includes a '9'.

However, on my radio when I press the '2' preset button, a '2' appears, the '6' button produces a '6', etc. The digits do NOT cycle through 1,2,3 etc as other Xtrails I have had do.

So how do I enter the 9? Has anyone else had this problem? Thanks in advance.

The procedure should be set out in your user manual, usually along with the code which accompanies the radio.

Re: HOWTO: entering the radio's PIN and recovering from ERR

Thanks, Revhead Kev. Unfortunately the previous owner did not pass on the Audio Systems Owners Manual Supplement, which is the manual I think you are referring to. I even rang him back to check if he still had it, but he said no.

That's why I am hoping someone else has the radio with 6 Disc Cd-Changer and can help me.

Cheers.

Re: HOWTO: entering the radio's PIN and recovering from ERR

HI Laurie,

Do you have a T30 or T31 ?

You should use the preset buttons to enter the security code digits, preset 1 for first digit, preset 2 for second digit, preset 3 for 3rd digit and preset 4 for 4th digit, pressing ewach the number of times needed for the code digit.
So if your code was 1234, then you would press preset 1 once, preset 2 twice, preset 3 three times and preset 4 four times. If you have to enter a 0 then either don't press that preset or press it ten times.

Re: HOWTO: entering the radio's PIN and recovering from ERR

Thanks again for your reply. I have a T30 (2007 Ti).

Unfortunately the preset buttons do not cycle as you have described. Instead, pressing the '3' button once produces the number '3', for example.

So, pressing the '1' preset four times would not produce a '4'. but would produce the code '1111'. That's why I need help to enter a '9'. Perhaps there is another button I need to press at the same time (like the Shift-key on a computer keyboard) but I haven't been able to find it.
