Re: Re-Programming Keyless Remote DIY Guide

Update on the above:

For context I was receiving fault codes P1610 and P1612, replaced the IMMU and rekeyed the key with the pin in NDSII to haveit start straight away, though now it seems to lose the memory once the key is pulled out and away from the car and fault code P1614 then appears, preventing ignition again. I can re-enter the IMMU pin in NDSII and it starts still.

Fault finding from the Service manual and NDSII manual tell me P1614 is a fault in the chain of IMMU-KEY.

Does anyone know anything about the 'dongle' in RHD models of the T30 Xtrail immobilizer system?
The schematics and fault finding refer to a 'dongle' wired into this system but I can't find any further information on its location appearance or function apart from the fact it is wired between the IMMU and the ECM which could be anywhere from the key barrel along behind the firewall and into the ECM behind the glovebox on the LHS.

The fault finding also refers to performing an 'initialization' process with the NATS system with Consult II. Does anyone know if this is possible with NDSII?

Any help, context or info would be appreciated.

Cheers,
Dave

Re: Re-Programming Keyless Remote DIY Guide

These are the instructions which came with the key!!!
You must use ORIGINAL KEY to start procedure
1. Sit in car lock all doors with power “switch lock on driver side door”
2. Using ORIGINAL key insert and remove key till doors UNLOCK within 8 seconds, usually insert and remove six times
3. Turn ORIGINAL key in ignition to ACC position (Do not start engine)
4. Lock all doors with “power door lock switch on Driver side door”
5. Press lock or unlock on NEW key this will match them up, if you have another key press lock or unlock as well, it will be programmed all keys to the same code.
To exit program mode, turn the ignition OFF. UNLOCK the door using the driver side switch. Test fobs

Ok I got a genuine Nissan key Fob and blank key for $115 NZD and tried the in and out 6 times at least with nothing that happened - no door unlock.

Do you insert and remove as quick as you can or let the Xrail register the ignition every time (should it go click every time)? I used the key inside the original fob, will it work with this or do I have to get the key with the plastic on it which is a key only.

My vehicle has never had the chimes when you are inside it with the door open etc, where is the "plug" found to ensure it isn't there and just needs re-connection for the process above to work?

Thanks Andy

Hi Andy,
The plug for the key-in chimes is located inside the steering column housing. You will need to remove the plastic cover underneath to access it.
