McGrath Nissan (Sutherland), Robinson Nissan (Rockdale) - any good?

My exy's just about up for it's 80,000 km service. As this is a major (*the* major service, it seems), and as the car's under warranty, I guess it would be wise to use a dealer to minimise potential finger-pointing problems.

As I detailed in my "Not happy Jan" post, I don't wish to take my little exy to my most conveniently located dealer (Randwick). I do pass McGrath Nissan on the way to work, and before I ask them if they do loan cars I'd like to get any opinions on the quality of their work. So, are they any good?

Ditto Robinson Nissan in Rockdale - these guys are a bit out of the way, but doable if they're worth it.

Rgds,
Ben

Ben,

What sort of warranty is this? The extended Nissan Australia one?

Here is my personal experience with both dealers in question (I serviced mine with both)

McGrath: Good service, expensive, charge for a loan car ($38), bigger premises, more staff.

Rockdale: Average service, reasonably priced (cheaper than McGrath), FREE loan car (booking in advance required), smaller premises, fewer staff, very helpful with answering questions and going over every detail with you. You might get a discount if you mention our forum, as they know us.

Both dealers offer very good customer service. (from my personal experience at least) but I would rank Rockdale first and McGrath second in this regard.

If you're passing McGrath, you will also pass by Rockdale and can pick-up a loan car and continue to Randwick.

The choice is yours.

Hi Jalal,

No, just the regular factory warranty - never seen the point of the "extended" warranties. My exy's a Dec 2003 model (ST II), so I've got till the end of this year. I'll be getting an NRMA inspection just before the warranty expires.

As it's not really more than a few hundred metres out of my way, I'll try the "better service" and free loan car at Rockdale.

I expect the exy will clock over in a couple of weeks, I'll let you know how I fared after the service :-)

Thanks,
Ben

Hi Bluey,

You can do so HERE but please take note of the highlighted text and warning I put there before you start telling your story.

Also, no names of service managers, sales people and the like and please don't use abusive language.

Other than that, fire away in that thread.
