Re: Front Brake Pads Replacement DIY Guide

Jalal and Tony, I think you misunderstood my post.
The problem was not pushing the piston back in, but rather the piston seal not going back in neatly folded with it.

And I used a syringe to take some fluid out of the reservoir so overflow was not a problem.

Dave, got the fronts done but the rears will have to wait because my Bendix 4WD pad set for the rear came with 3 Outer and only 1 Inner pad emoticon so I have to exchange them next week.

Re: Front Brake Pads Replacement DIY Guide

I didn't have this problem with the rubber seals when I changed my pads Kev, as usually when you push back the piston head the rubber seal falls back into place correctly.

Sorry for the misunderstanding Kev.

Now looking back at your pics, its is strange that they popped out like that, never seen them do that before. Then again, I haveen't done mine yet and will probably experience it then.

Re: Front Brake Pads Replacement DIY Guide

Kev, I remember mine doing the same thing (a long time ago now). I never had that problem with the rubbers in the Pulsar SSS. I think I used a philips-head screwdriver - taking extra extra care not to pierce the rubber!!!

You certainly found the perfect tool for the job - I'll be sure to remember that next time I change my pads emoticon

Re: Front Brake Pads Replacement DIY Guide

Thanks for the guide, I've never used a torque wrench before on brakes but I did today. Only extra tool needed was a 19mm socket to remove the bracket holding the pads as I changed rotors too.

$580something quoted from Nissan vs. $240 in parts from my local auto parts mob. Winning.
