I ended up getting them from Steve Jarvin Nissan here in Sydney for $195. There is an ebay listing from them for these. My experiences were a little different (maybe I did this whole thing wrong with the underside panel). The three screws on each side that hold the panel in place under the fog lamps came off easy but the panel itself is by far not small OR easy to come off (actually it never came off). It has to be twisted and turned and then also the underside edges of the front bumper need to be pulled a bit. Finally I had some space to put my hand in. The blanks were easy to pop off. The real trouble was putting the screw in the back of the right hand side fog lamp. There is a huge plastic tank right behind the fog lamp plastic holder. Just about enough space to put your hand in straight, but after that it gets real tight to put the screw in. I wish there was some other way (lol, unless there is and I am an idiot). The steering stalk switch was a breeze to put in. And since the battery was disconnected (it says to do this with the instructions that came with the lamps) I had to do the 20 sec trick with the drivers side window to get it to do the AUTO UP thingy. All in all a fun hour or so. Saved me some big dollars. You don't need to have the dealer fit the fog lights for you at all, so save your money and do it yourself. The wiring is all there for you to connect to and all you need to do is swap the steering stalk switch with the one supplied by Nissan that has the fog light control. You won't find a cheaper set of genuine Nissan fog lights than those being sold by the dealers, the biggest savings come from not having the dealer fit them for you.nondisclosed_email@example.com (jalalski)Tue, 17 Jan 2012 13:57:03 +0000 Re: How to remove the front fog lights-DIYhttps://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2059702,from=rss#post2059702https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2059702,from=rss#post2059702First is the above process the same for a 2011 Series 4 but in reverse to fit a set of fog lights. Also is their somewhere cheaper like our shop to purchase a set of fogs as i phoned the dealers and the cost is $234 and to fit $265.Why does it take 3 hrs labour for a dealer to fit them it must be difficult? In the case of the Series 2, there are 2 scrivets and one screw holding the plastic cover at the bottom of the wheel arch. They are quite easy to pop out. You only need to release the bottom flap - not the whole wheel arch section. Luckily Jalal supplied the bolts and captive nuts with the lights, which made fitting the lamps a breeze. The wiring harness was there ready to connect. The relay position is very clearly marked on the lid of the electrical box under the bonnet. I had quite a bit of trouble removing the steering column cover. There are 4 Torx head screws. 3 are easy to find, but the 4th one is buried deep under the wiper switch. I had to buy a long adaptor to get to it. You have to pop out the escutcheon ring around the ignition switch before the lower cover will come away. This can be done with gentle persuasion using a small screwdriver. The indicator / light switch assembly is held in place with two plastic spring tabs. You squeeze the tabs down and slide the switch assembly towards the drivers door. Once free, there are two connectors that need to be unplugged. Each connector is held in place with a plastic latch on the side. You need to push the latch in with a small screwdriver whilst pulling on the plug. Putting it all back together is a breeze. The whole job took me around an hour, which was about twice as long as it should have.    nondisclosed_email@example.com (XSteve)Mon, 23 Jul 2007 20:40:56 +0000 Re: How to remove the front fog lights-DIYhttps://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p869980,from=rss#post869980https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p869980,from=rss#post869980The plastic clip thingies are called scrivets. nondisclosed_email@example.com (AKAK9)Mon, 22 May 2006 12:23:41 +0000 Re: How to remove the front fog lights-DIYhttps://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p869979,from=rss#post869979https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p869979,from=rss#post869979Hi Roger, I just checked the service manual and yes, it is the same process.nondisclosed_email@example.com (jalalski)Mon, 22 May 2006 08:03:05 +0000 Re: How to remove the front fog lights-DIYhttps://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p869978,from=rss#post869978https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p869978,from=rss#post869978Jalal: WRT to the DIY re removal of the fog lights: Is it more-or-less the same procedure for the Series 2 fog lights ?? You just need to pop-out the blanks you now have. Installing the steering stalk switch will require you take off the bottom and upper steering column covers (there are about 3 screws you need to remove), then it is just a matter of removing 2 screws of the existing lighting control switch (the one mounted on the steering) and unplugging it from it's place and plugging in the new one. They have connectors at the end of them which just slide in place. However, before you put everything back, test that the lighting control actually turns the front fog lights on, as you may need a relay to go in the engine bay (the black fuse box on the driver's side in the engine bay) which will enable the fog lights to come on. All wiring should already be there in your ST. nondisclosed_email@example.com (jalalski)Tue, 21 Feb 2006 19:10:34 +0000 Re: How to remove the front fog lights-DIYhttps://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p869974,from=rss#post869974https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p869974,from=rss#post869974Just recieved a set of front fog lights form e bay and wondering if anyone has installed the lights and new steering column mounted control that replaces the existing one.nondisclosed_email@example.com (Doctor X)Tue, 21 Feb 2006 18:17:35 +0000 Re: How to remove the front fog lights-DIYhttps://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p869973,from=rss#post869973https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p869973,from=rss#post869973once you have taken the screw that holds the light in another easy way to remove the light is to put two flat screwdrivers one each side of light and gently prise out.nondisclosed_email@example.com (bluetrail)Sun, 24 Apr 2005 21:20:41 +0000 How to remove the front fog lights-DIYhttps://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p869972,from=rss#post869972https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p869972,from=rss#post869972Now that I've seen how the electrician popped this driving/fog lights out, I know how to get to them myself. I'm not sure if I would be able to explain the process correctly, but I'm gonna give it a go anyway: 1. The access to the driving lights is from the under-part of the front mudguard (just the black plastic cover part that is in front of the tyre under the mudguard) 2. There are 2 screws at the bottom of the mudguard, just at the corner of your front bumper straight under the driving lights. Take these off (I believe one of them is a screw and the other is just a plastic thread clip-not sure of the exact name of this thing..sorry) 3. Once you have taken the black cover off, it will dangle a bit and you would be able to see one nut that is holding the driving light from it's base. Take this off using a spanner. 4. Once the above screw-nut has been taken off, you will need to push the driving light with your right hand from the back (really hard) and ensure your left hand is guarding the fog light from falling off at the other end of the bumper. That's it basically, the whole fog light assembly will be in your hand and you will see the light socket there, turn it to gain access to the light bulb. Hope this helps. nondisclosed_email@example.com (jalalski)Sat, 23 Apr 2005 21:19:29 +0000
