Solartint
Hi Guys,
Just came back from a quick visit to our local Solartint shop and was quoted $400 for the 20% on all windows (except the windscreen).
The above price includes stripping of the old tint off and a life time warranty, with no disclaimers to sign.
The guy said he's not sure why nissan chose the tint that I have because it doesn't match the colour of my black xtrail (being sort of greenish) and its only the 35% one.
He said it's looking darker than normal 35% because I have black seat covers.
He showed me their factory car that had the 20% on and I love it. It's black, so it will match my exy perfectly.
I'm taking it for re-tint next week
In terms of legality of window tint, he said that cops come to his shop and say that as long as they can what is going inside the car, it's fine.
With the 5% however the above is not possible, plus driving on a rainy night, becomes a nightmare where you will have to wind your window down to turn or stick your head-out in reverse parking. (something I don't want to do, even if I have the reverse parking sensors)

Re: Quick question about window tinting
Thanks Pete, you must have read my mind
I was on the train this morning heading to the city with the family when one lady was going through the discount vouchers book and I saw an advert. for Solartint. I remembered the web site you gave us for the discounts and thought I'd check it out when I get back.
Thanks for confirming the discount. It's a bargain then
Nissan Sutherland used a local company called Ming for paint and fabric protection and the tint..etc.
I'm hesitant to use this company again as it seems their tint colour range is not that great.

Re: Quick question about window tinting
Shane,
Thanks, but I'd rather have the life time warranty and nothing to sign which Solace are unable to offer on the 20% according to the information you have provided previously.
I will use this discount against Solartint however and see if they can match it.

Re: Quick question about window tinting
Pete,
I just logged in to the bargainbook web site and couldn't find any discount offers for Solartint.
Were you referring to this web site or some discount vouchers you have?
If you do have the discount voucher for Solartint, can you please bring it with you tomorrow?
I saw discounts for Solace reducing the total price from $495 to $350, but I've already got this price even without any discounts from Solartint.
Any help with the discounts would be appreciated.

Re: Quick question about window tinting
OK guys, after much consideration, I have decided to wait a bit until I get a good discount voucher for Solartint before I re-tint the car.
Nissan Rockdale is offering a summer special $295, but when I asked them what type of window tint it is, they told me it's Solace 35% only. (which is what I have at the moment anyway)
