Re: Dash mat
Hi Richard,
It shouldn't. I picked-up this type of dash mat from super cheap auto and it has an openning for the passenger air-bag.
It covers the drivers' glove-box quite nicely as well

Re: Dash mat
Jalal,
Your dashmat looks like it's made for the exy, are you sure it's not made for the left-hand drive models?
The drivers side glove box compartment doesn't appear to have any cutouts to open it? Does the whole dashmat lift up when opening it?
And the opening on the left side looks like where the glove box compartment is for?

Re: Dash mat
Noel,
It's for RHD models am sure, but as you have noticed (and I did too when I bought it) it doesn't have the cutout for the glove box, the nissan one from the dealers has.
There is an existing stich in the material which I can simply cut to make that cut-out in my dash mat for the glove box, but I never bother doing so and I sort of like the concealed look of the glove box.
Yes, the mat lifts up a little from the driver’s side when I open the glove box, but it doesn't affect the rest of it on the other side.
The design was made to have an opening/cut-out for the most important feature and that is the airbag
Don’t think it would have been approved for sale in Australia if it didn’t have the opening for the airbag.

What! not chromed or painted red to make it go faster.
I wish I could find a place where I could just dip the whole exy in to have it chromed tip to toe LOL Would make my life easier.
You obviously haven’t read the "disclaimer" on my web site regarding "performance"

Someone on this forum bought the nissan dash mat from the dealers (which are a bit more expensive) and it had both cuts outs. I have not seen it myself though.

Re: Dash mat
Rich, mine is Series I, so am not sure if it would fit, as the cluster box on Series II is smaller. The air-bag position is the same.
Super Cheap might have one for Series II as well (am not sure, I haven't checked).
You can always ask them to try it on before you pay for it.

well Jalal change of plan, the other half doesn't like the airbag space, so we are not getting it now.....
Hmmm. You can always convert the air-bag space into another storage glove-box LOL...just kidding
I paid $36.95 for mine at SuperCheap Rockdale, right next to Nissan for those who are in Sydney.
