Re: LPG autogas
Thanks Peter,
I also understand the rebate has now been capped at a maximum of 25,000 conversions/yr and currently being almost half-way through this year, only about 1/4 of that allocation has been taken up.
Do you think it is the reduced rebate which is the main reason or that petrol was cheaper for a while and people have gotten used to it again ?

Re:
The costs of fuels and LPG installs will never reduce that drastically. Whether it be LPG or petrol.
Look at the cost of Diesel, once again prices are going up even though more and more people are buying diesel engined cars.

That's exactly why the cost of diesel is going up

Re:
Some people like myself buy the diesel for the torque, in my case towing a trailer 6 days a week.
Unless you own a diesel you won't understand what I mean.
When looking at fuel usage when towing, petrol or LPG comes nowhere near the economy of a diesel engine.

Re: LPG autogas
Economy of a diesel in respects to lt/100km or as in $/100km ?
Sure petrol and LPG will be somewhere like 2x that for diesel in lt/100km when towing, but with LPG being 1/3 the $ then that gives you about 2/3 of ther diesel $/100km and in my calculations = economy.

Re: LPG autogas
Have had lpg fitted for 6 months now. Lpg 55c/l then and is now79c/ltr. I get 460Km from a tank (53ltr) , suburban use as against 550 Km per tank of petrol.(58ltr)
Petrol is now $1.55 here. I know why petrol is up, but cant understand why LPG has risen by 30%, Gillard indicated a rise of 2.5% per litre yearly until 2017 but some companies have already taken more. As a senior, each dollar counts , so LPG is still more attractive, and I do not lose any power from my Exy.
Also I have read posts re spare wheel position. My exy has a cargo barrier and blind.
I stood the wheel flat against the lefthand side of the barrier between the support of the blinb and the barrier. I positioned the wheel so that the air valve was uppermost and put a 8 mm bolt through a wheel hole to a hole in flat bar behind the barrier held by a wing nut. With a cut through the barrier, One cross of the mesh, I can access the spare tyre valve. A nissan spare wheel cover finishes the job and is very stable.
