Re: Protecting trim from Seat Belt Buckle Re-coil
Hi Luke,
I noticed the scratches on my trim too and you're correct, the seat belt buckle does hit the plastic trim pretty hard when it retracts into place.
I have lessened the impact by putting on those seat belt pads that go around the seat belt itself, so it doesn't retract all the way back when I press the release button.
The other solution is to cover the plastic trims with clear type self adhesive film/pvc.

Re: Protecting trim from Seat Belt Buckle Re-coil
I have a habit (and it's a good habit, ), to actually hold the clip and feed the belt back into place over my sholder, when I'm ready to leave the vehicle.
I really hate seeing twisted belts that don't recall properly over time.
I don't let mine go and leave it to recall by itself.
