Re: Key in ignition key beep disable - note
OK, thanks for that Ben, will play around tomorrow and this is definitely much better than cutting wires
One more question Ben. Does the lights-on warning chime still work when you un-plugged this connector or it disabled that too?

Re: Key in ignition key beep disable - note
Awesome stuff Ben,
Guess your DIY method supersedes the rest and it is the safest way of doing it.
I will link your post and make it the only DIY Method for this mod, so others won’t get confused when they see my "old" method of cutting wires.
Thanks for your help. An awesome first contribution to the forum
(Edit) I have just re-wired the door switch to its original shape and order and disconnected this plug. All working fine. Thumbs-up!
With all the excitement, I forgot to take photos of the 4 screws position, so the next member to do this mod is kindly asked to take some pics of the 4 screw holes, so we can add them in to the DIY Guide.

Re: Key in ignition key beep disable - note
Looks like I'm the next member to disable this. So I can also confirm that this procedure also works on a Series I, TI.
Here are the 4 bolt positions:

Thanks for the pic Noel.
This is exactly what I needed to create a nice and fresh DIY Guide for this mod in Ben's name
The quick reference post to DIY Guides has also been updated to show this.

Jalal:
Perhaps you might consider a few additional lines for the DIY guide - specifically for the benefit of some Global users.....
I just disabled my beeper this morning and noted some minor differences on the Canadian version.
1. There is a plastic "bezel" around the ignition switch which is best removed "first" (simple pry off with a slot screwdriver) - I didn't do it at first and it went "flying" into the cab when I pulled the plastic housing apart.
Replacement is just a "push-on" after the upper and lower plastic housings are re-united.
2. Our model has only 3 screws and they are TORX bit - size is T20.
3. The connector is slightly different from the one in Ben's photo, but is still only a 2 wire connector, easily seen and taken apart.
4. When re-uniting the 2 plastic pieces, I had some minor difficulty. It's turns out best if you put the right side (as you face the steering wheel) together first, followed by the left - then the bezel - then the screws.
I can confirm that, on the Canadian model, almost all other functions remain normal after the annoying beeper is disabled.
However, there is one change which I did not note this morning - hence this edit.
On the Canadian model, there is a feature that turns the dome lights on immediately after you turn the key off. Perhaps your models have the same feature.
It's a somewhat helpful feature if you're trying to see / find something before you open the door.
With the key-in beeper disabled, this feature ceases to function. The dome lights do come on as soon as you open the door.
I did not notice it this morning (daylight) but did pick up on it this evening and thought I'd mention it..........
Cheers = Roger

Re: Key in ignition key beep disable - note
Ben and Roger,
Just went to check the dome light and it is the same as Roger already observed. It is no longer coming on when I remove the key from the ignition.
Oh well, can't have it all I guess with my previous method, I had the dome light functioning well, but I lost the lights-on warning.
