Re: how fast ?
All very interesting reading, but shouldn't we keep it to the track guys!
How about each state hold a drag meet day, 1/8th mile preferred, tracks are easily hired, and we do a shootout.
We average the top 10 results from each state and decide the winning state that way.
We could hold diesel and petrol classes, modded and un-modded, be great fun.
We could then have a finals shootout. I suggest Sunset Strip Mildura, as it is fairly central to most owners and a great place to play!
I love it, cant wait to go their again, Augustus the X Trail

Re: how fast ?
Hey Guys the whole point of a track day is the chance to meet each other and do a heap of bench racing as well (Drag racing lingo for dribbling !@#$) as real runs.
With less than 50 Exys you would be looking at 20 plus runs for the day, as it's an 1/8th mile the track is cleared quicker so more runs for everyone. It has lights so we can go until the 10 o'clock curfew.
For those not familiar with it all we could have a Drag Racing School, be real cool to get the newbs up to speed real quick.
So if anyone's interested I can Line up Sunset Strip Mildura fairly cheap, great 1/8th mile facility, and if they don't have to do track prep with traction compound it's cheaper again! We wont require it!
Plenty of cheap quality Accommodation around as well if you pick the right time of the year and go off peak!
Not sure if they are currently allowing camping at the track, but I can ask!
If anyone's interested I'll put together a package, with any money above and beyond expenses, going into prizes for your exy!
So lets have a shootout party and some fun. And of the track used to have a mud racing track as well that they might get back into shape for us, we could very easily have mud drags as well!
Look forward to your responses, Augustus the X Trail (getting Muddy all the time)

Re:
The Events section would be the best place to start this event, otherwise it would be lost in this thread.

Re:
Awhile back now, after my pacifist father called me in tears, having been attacked by some local pieces of human filth, in his own yard.. 198km/h. Got to his house in (what felt like a very long) 4 mins flat. Which was still 8mins faster than apparently a 'code red' response from the local police (4 cars and 10 cops). Sadly the little worms had already left. Didn't save them, but we'll keep the thread on topic. I don't condone speeding, and in most cases it causes more harm than good, particularly in emergencies. But no one thinks straight when it concerns family.

I like your accuracy when measuring your speed LOL (not 200 or 195)

Re:
My tyres are something like +50mm over standard OD. So my speedo is inaccurate by about 8km/h if memory serves me correctly. The point being I use GPS and it has a whole bunch of trip stats, ie. Avg speed, top speed, tine all that jazz (as I've been tracking fuel consumption for awhile now, so I have something to compare to when I do some major servicing soon). Top speed of the trip was 198.3km/h.
