Re: Series 2 Cooler Box - no air flow

Thanks Rybky

When you say "center dash trim", are you talking about the side panels to the centre console?

Cheers

Sorry, I meant the silver trim on the face of the center of the dash that goes around the heater controls, stereo and pockets. This just pops off with a little encouragment from the top and sides. Be careful though as the plastic is very soft and can dent easily if you use a metal object.

The side panels come off quite easily too, everything is interlocked though so you may need to remove the trim under the glove box first, can't remember now.

Update. Booked in tommorrow for the chiller box to be checked @ Frankston. Technician still claiming there is no chillerbox. I mentioned it is a listed feature in all documentation - see website. He advises that he doesn't take any notice of the website.
I have now reported the matter to Nissan Customer care - we will see how we go.

Why I am not suprised emoticon

By the way, he doesn't need to access any website for this information. Each dealer have the Eletronic Service Manual and he can refer to that on their computer. As easy as that!

I bet the service tech does't have the manual I have. I was talking to a fellow Exy owner the other day who had a copy of the Aussie version. Seems the version I have which is from the UK has heaps more info in it. AV, LAN, CAN etc etc

From my own personal experiance, the cooler box is fine if you have the AirCon going full bore, but I must say it's nowhere near as good as a proper electric fridge. And the heating, well... not really that good. I tried heating a pie one day, and after about 2 hours it was lukewarm. More show than go really.

They do Andrew and the service manager at Sutherland Nissan was viewing it right in front of me when I asked him how can I remove the automatic gear stick from it's place. The ESM doesn't cover that and it seems it is still a big mystery emoticon

I never came across the "Australian" version of the ESM and thought they all came from Japan and included all models.

P.S. The other exy owner you're referring to haven't read his copy of the ESM correctly and the LAN as as well Sat Nav info. is there. "you know who you're" hehehe emoticon

Hi Jalal, not saying it didn't have the chapters, just not the detail. We compared notes and it was quite different. Either that, or the other person who will remain nameless got ripped off! Some of the Ebay specials I see, Hmmmm.... what can one say!

My version came from Nissan UK, via my father-in-law. (Mates of mates in the trade etc)

Re: Series 2 Cooler Box - no air flow

Fair enough, I still think they're the same emoticon

Email me a snap-shot of one page or chapter and we can easily confirm this.

I have both Series I and II ESMs with me and they cover ALL (petrol and diesel) xtrails, including the ST-S variant (which is based on the Canadian model)

The only thing that is not covered "I think" is the GT Turbo (I could be wrong there or I haven't searched for it in the ESM)

AJ, did you defrost it first? emoticon I don't think they ever intended it to be a full-on heater/chiller, but I do notice the driver's side keeps my can of Coke extra cold for longer, and the centre-dash box melts chocolate in winter (I forgot it was in there!)
