Members Ranking
Hi Guys,
I have just started to trial a new ranking system which will see members of this forum have different ranks (under their username) depending on the number of posts they make on the forum and their status at registration.
So far the only rank which I liked is New X-Trailer
This rank will also be given automatically by the forum software when you sign-up to the forum and make your first post.
I seek your help and ideas to work-out other ranks which will be based on the number of posts too.
100th post rank name?
300th post rank name?
500th post rank name?
Over 1000 posts rank name?
The above ranking system would be a good differentiating and rewarding feature to all members of the forum and it would look nice as well instead of the old boring "registered member" status.
I would welcome your suggestions as always, but please keep the rank name related to the exy as close as you can.

What about the old system of:
0-99: ????? (not sure)
100: bronze member
300: silver member
500: gold member
750: platinum member
1000: diamond member
Can see it taking a while to reach diamond.
I like that Brett and I think it would be a bit more distinctive than the alternative proposed by Rich which is also nice.
0-99: New X-Trailer?? maybe
But then again, we have new members sign-up who are not yet xtrailers, so maybe that won’t work well.
Hmmm, what could the rank name be for that category?

Thanks Brett, but I don't think thats "politically" correct and nice ranking to hold for all of 99 posts on the forum while being a newbie LOL
Newbies might already have an xtrail when they join up the forum, so this rank doesn't apply.

Re: Members Ranking
Hey Brett,
I see your over the 100 post count already , that's very cheeky knowing that you wouldn't get that classification.

New Members Ranking is now Active
Hi Guys,
Noel and I have put our heads together last night and we have come-up with the following ranking system which we hope you'll like.
Along with the new rankings which will appear under your username, we have also decided to implement a Star system, whereby each star will be associated with the corresponding rank.
Example: X-Trail Newbie will have One Star and will continue to hold this star and rank, until they reach the 100th post where their rank will automatically change to X-TRAIL ENTHUSIAST with 2 stars and so on.
The new rankings will be take place as soon you as make a post on the forum, so try it out.
Please note that the stars themselves can be changed to anything else and I was thinking of giving the admin team maybe something different than what members will have, so we will have Blue Stars and members will have Red Stars.
Also, the admin team will keep the current titles as this is a requirement from Runboard and we need to comply.
We hope you like it and please feel free to let us know what you think.

Re: Members Ranking
Hi Mark,
Yes I guess it does look strange, as even I joined up about 1 year after you.
But in all honesty, the post count would have to be the best indication of contribution, which is what the Ratings and Star Ratings are trying to achieve.
Cheers
