Stockton beach

Took the xtrail up to Stockton beach (past Newcastle) the other day. Was very cautious with all those hard-core 4x4's around, but the xtrail handled it ok. Didnt go far really.
I was a bit concerned about how the standard road types would like being reduced in pressure, but so far no ill effects.

Fun, fun, fun! =D =D =D emoticon

Re: Stockton beach

Hi Heather12

I generally start at 25psi for the sand and have never had any trouble, mind you, I think that the Teewah Beach / Rainbow Beach sand is nowhere near as soft as Stockton Beach.

There is, as usual, many differing opinions on what type of tyre is best for sand work. Generally, most will agree that road biased H/T tyres like the Toyo Tranpaths etc are not bad on the sand, but A/T's might be better.

Regards

Hi XBenn.
You obviously live around the Newcastle/Hunter area.Welcome to this forum. The admin team will no-doubt contact you very shortly if they haven't already. There are some good trip reports about Stockton Beach "adventures" on this site ,just look through the "trip reports" . I will be organising another trip to Stockton Beach in the near future, I will keep you posted.I have lived in Newcastle for about 10 years.
Admin team, I will put the details on the appropriate section shortly. I know Jalalski enjoyed Stockton last time.
