P0409 fault code

Hi!
Started off with a p0488 powertrain egr throttle position control range. Got it 3 years back and just cleaned my egr. No problemos.
But now my egr clogged up again, and I bought a new cheap one. From a retailer.
Installed it and got a p0409 fault code + the old p0488.
The egr looks identical to the original one. Has anyone tried swapping over the electric motor on it? Im guessing its only an on/off mechanism.

Anyone got any tips on this?

Re: P0409 fault code

Searching the forum for P0409 comes up with this thread where there is a suggestion that it could be due to a boost leak so check your hose connections and hoses for splits as a first thing.

Got the same error when I cleaned my ERG, check the clip where the wires plug clips onto the unit as it is a very precise fit and it fixed the issue for me, after pricing up a replacement and then recovering from the heart issues the price caused.
