T31 Series 1 ST Fog Lamp Installation using used parts
All T31’s come with everything wired up ready for fog lights to be installed (see here) including the fuses. Nissan just didn’t install the fog lamps, but you can. No need for installing a second fog light button on the dash or wiring up anything.
What parts will I need?
- Used combination switch* from a wrecker (original non-fog and a used with fog switch)
- Used OEM (part number B61E0JG100) or after market set of fog lights^
That’s it.
What tools will I need?
- Screwdriver
- T20 Torx driver
- #1 pozidriver
- 1 flat blade driver (just to pop out scrivett, can substitute if needed)
Steps:
1. Swap the steering wheel combination switch using these instructions*.
2. Remove the front bit of the wheel arch cover and wheel inner fender protector. You only need remove the screws/clips towards the front of the fender, just do enough to get your hand in towards the fog lights. See t31_front_fender_removal.pdf
3. Follow these fog light installation instructions. Don’t worry the blanking plates in the way, they pop out very easy.
4. Once you have installed the new fogs, test them BEFORE refitting the inner fender protector fixing screws and clips. Do this by turning the driving lights on then rotating the fog lamp switch. A fog light will come up on the dash, nice and OEM.
5. Perform the fog lamp fitting aim adjustment, following these instructions. Once again do this BEFORE refitting the inner fender protector fixing screws and clips. This was a big fail on my part with one of my lights pointing to the moon. Leaving it like that is very unsafe for other drivers blinded by you, so do the adjustment properly.
6. Refitting the inner fender protector and wheel arch cover fixing screws and clips in place.
For another set of detailed instructions doing OEM fogs on Series 3 see Johngqld great post here. You’ll see some differences but also a lot of similarities.
* I swapped in a combo switch from a later model T31 Series 3 with auto main headlights because I’m a muppet who accidentally ordered the ‘wrong’ part. But everything was plug in and play, it works perfectly save the auto lights function does nothing. I relabelled the auto switch to read Ghost mode, in honour of all the people who drive around Sydney at night with their headlights off.
^ This design of fog lamp was shared across a range of Nissans out in Australia at the time such as the Juke 2011-2014, Murano 2009-2014, Tiida Hatchback 2004 - 2007 and imports like the Cube 2009-2015 and so on. I would not bother going to wreckers myself for fog lights, there are heaps of aftermarket options given it’s a shared part between models. I went after market for a grand total of $21 including shipping. Note that mounting for the lamps is built into nose assembly of the car, you do not need brackets.

Re: T31 Series 1 ST Fog Lamp Installation using used parts
Well done Nick.
Yes it is a nice thing Nissan did by including the wiring in the harnesses for almost everything, regardless of model so all you need do is find the parts and plug them in.

Re: T31 Series 1 ST Fog Lamp Installation using used parts
According to Nick's post, it is all there except for the combination light switch which has the fog lamp extra switch.
You may also need a relay and fuse but the wiring harness and connectors should all be there. Just check behind the bumper to be sure.
