Improving Ride Quality With New Shocks T31??

Has anyone replaced the shocks on their T31. Looking for recommendations and approx cost for the parts. We're not off road much and not looking to lower or lift. Also does anyone know who makes the original shocks? We recently went from a new car to an older one and you can really tell the difference. I'm happy to spend a few dollars to improve the ride quality.
Thanks 👍

Re:

I just installed the latest Sachs shocks with excellent results. They have the latest auto valving, are constantly updated, and are made in some of the most advanced factories the Germans have making shocks.

I have them on my T30 and it now rides more like a BMW (it has stiffer springs). On the stock spring the ride may be more 'Mercedes like', but the damping is excellent and the condition adjustment is second to none.

Pricing was between rubbish OEM and the Gabriel and KYB replacements. You could opt with Koni also for a similarly good result, I think they have some for your T31 too.

Interested for any information on this too. The front shocks on my T31 are going to need to be replaced in July.

I will replace the rear shocks soon with TRW ones. TRW is the company who supplies some parts for Audi. My Exy has 275k on the clock and feels rough when going over speedbumps. It will be interesting to see what difference it makes.

Re: Improving Ride Quality With New Shocks T31??

I've just ordered some KYB Excel-G shocks all round. Will report back once they have been installed and run in. They seem like they offer twin tube gas absorbers and some rebound valving which is very similar to the tech in the Sachs (I've also heard good things from the brand Sachs too) but I got the KYB on discount so they won out this time. From my limited knowledge these two products are designed with OEM standards in mind.

See https://www.kyb.com.au/product/excel-g/ for more info.

Monroe was also very highly rated but a bit to pricey for my budget.

I replaced all my struts in the T30 with these KYB Excel-G struts and after 6+ years still feels great.
