Install original cruise control in 2011 T31 Auto, petrol

Hi guys
Another lockdown here, so plenty of time to think how to screw up my Exy.
Sorry if that's been asked before, but my search didn't find anything.
Is it possible to install an original cruise control taken out from a wrecked car? If yes, then what parts should I source, besides the obvious steering wheel controls buttons?
How big of a job is it compared to fitting a third-party solution? Any pros and cons to both methods?

From the service manual, the Electronic Speed "cruise" Control Device (ESCD) switch wires into the Engine Control Module (ECM). All other sensors such as brake switch, accelerator pedal position, Park-Neutral Position (PNP) switch should already be wired to the ECM as should the CVT CAN Bus communication line. So it seems all you have to do is check if there are spare wires at the steering wheel spiral cable (clock spring) for the cruise control switches to plug into.

So first step would be to check the spiral cable plug under the steering column to see if the spare wires are there.

Thanks Kev!
I'll check the cable when I source the music/volume buttons control plate, which is my next and I reckon much easier project...

So, provided the cabling is already there what should I buy? Only the ESCD? Do I need to buy the ECU as well?
And if the cables are not there, I reckon this part of the wiring is not that big of a job?

I did say "it seems all you have to do..." as it is difficult to know exactly what functions have been included into our Engine Control & Transmission Control Modules between different models and also other country variations.
Having said that though, we have already found there are functions in the T31 automatic transmission which could be enabled by adding the appropriate switch and wire.

In your case you will have to see if the wires are there and add the cruise switches and see if it works.
