2011 T31, auto - possible transmission problem - error code P0744

Guys,
I purchased my second second-hand X-trail 2 weeks ago. It's 2011, auto, 2.5L. When I test drove the car I couldn't feel anything unusual, but later in the heavy traffic jam, the car shakes when I drove it very slow. It feels like you drive a manual car very slow in very high gear. So I had to manual (Tiptronic) low gear to drive normally. Then I was waiting on a very steep uphill at the traffic light and when the green came, I pressed the gas, the gar jumped and entered in I reckon limp mode - moving very slowly. I couldn't rev or change gear. I had to restart the car to make it go. Then straight to a transmission specialist. There was an error code (no light on the dash) - P0744. But all they did was to check the transmission oil and said the transmission and the torque converter were OK.
I read about that error and it could be something not necessarily mechanical: https://www.engine-codes.com/p0744_nissan.html
But no one checked that, and they are supposed to be the best around here (Auckland, New Zealand).
Provided it's not a mechanical issue, how big of a job is testing the torque converter clutch solenoid valve and/or harness? If that doesn't involve removing the whole transmission, but only the tray and filter I reckon it should be 2-3 hours max?
And what's the cost of replacing this solenoid?
Any other ideas?

Cheers,
Nick

A suggestion is to flush the transmission oil and see if things improve as it might just be some gunk partially or occasionally blocking a valve port.
If the flush does not improve things then next would be to have the valve assemble cleaned.

Thanks for the advice, mate!
I'll have it booked for CVT oil change ASAP.
The valve assembly cleaning might be not to so easy. I can't do it myself and around Christmass everyone is very busy. I asked the same guys (the most recommended here) for a quote for checking these valves, solenoids etc, but they refused. They wouldn't do anything unless there is an error code present to the car goes in limp mode in front of them. As the error code was cleaned before their super-duper state of the art $5K scanner wasn't even able to read past mistakes. So I'm hoping for error code to appear soon, or at least to have a limp mode again.
Today I invested $10 in CVTz50 and was able to discover 2 past codes:

Not sure if that tells me when they occurred?
