Re: T30 Replacement Shocks?
Hi Jeff,
If you were to use anything other than OEM replacements then I would suggest replacing both as a pair.

Re:
At least suspension on a T30/31 is a cheap parts wise compared to many cars. Replacement on is about as easy as it gets to DIY, so is a boon as you really only need rags, a ball-joint puller, spring compressor, spanners, sockets/ratchets with extensions and breaker bars.
I sourced all new parts, 35mm raised springs for $350, four struts (best I could find) for $500. Not much else needed to be replaced but I did the front lower control arms as they were so cheap, you can get a kit for $150 to swap all the bushes, or buy two new arms inc the ball joints for $230, and make the job bolt-on, bolt-off (Else pressing bushes in and out is required). Sway bar Poly D-bushes were $35/pair and needed changing (by 150k). At 200k expect to change the rear arm bushings, which have to be pressed out, and back in, one by one. But all can be sourced cheaply too, either in rubber or poly.
The extra height makes it much more capable and the increased stiffness settles the car on the road better than new (we've had it that long). Should have done this long ago! javascript:clickicon(''); Wouldn't have bothered had I not found this forum!

I managed to get complete rear arms, both the trailing arms and the parallel arms instead of the hassle of pressing bushes out/in.

Re: T30 Replacement Shocks?
Much simpler to buy new arms, but I couldn't get any on the cheap. Instead decided to do all the bushes, not just the fore/aft arms that were obviously loose and worn. Once they were all off, I just gathered them up and took them down to the shop to get them all pressed out. Then cleaned them up and fitted poly two-piece bushes by hand. And changed the diff ones and the subframe bushes too, only so we don't have to go in again. Very happy with the result, especially the strut/spring combo. I wanted the KYBs, but have never had a bad Sachs shock yet, so plumped down for their new dynamic ones to see what they're like

Found mine in Russia and got our estemed President Jalal to have one of his relatives ship them over to me.

Found it cheaper to import them directly from a UK parts store and you could not get the replacement boots or bump stops here in AUS anyway.
