posticon Hi from Pommie land

Hello from the UK,

I have just become the owner of my first X-trail and am finding it difficult to find custom parts over here. I joined in the hope someone could help me. I am wanting to lift my "ex'y" and put on an after market winch front bumper, such as the ones you can normally find on landies, rangers and shoguns. The type typically made from piping and chequer plate, that goes under the front, to protect the engine. Does anyone know where i could buy one, or have one made. I obviously would pay for international shipping.

Re: Hi from Pommie land

G'day mate!

The structure of the X-ey is not really strong enough for a winch, as to winch things we need the kind of longitudinal resistance that a full chassis provides.

X-eys are light and nimble, not rocks we can winch to/from. Landcruisers need a purpose, so best to leave it to them ;-)

I lifted a T30 last week, new struts, springs, bushes, brakes, arms and mounts, the ride is massively better than it was, as its rear struts and bushes had failed at 220k. A very rewarding job, defo something to look forward to. Enjoy!

Hi, sorry for my late response. It's very warm here today, so I suppose it's a little like Cyprus lol. Thanks for the link, I will look into it.

Re: Hi from Pommie land

Thanks for the info, I'm not really wanting a winch, I just like the look of the bumpers on rangers, land cruisers and landies etc.
