Re:

Hi all.
I sell Whispbar and Prorack, plus Thule and Rhino roof racks.

Whispbar and Prorack are the same company, Whispbar have a life time warrenty and are usually about $20 or $30 more expensive than Prorack which have a 2 year warranty. To me get the better quality ones it is ony $20 or $30 over the lifetime of the vehicle.

I fitted Rhino as they also have a life time warranty on the vortex and HD bars, and I like the fact it is held together with big bolts, if they wriggle loose, you tighten them up.
With the whispbar and prorack bars you can easily fit the size above or the size below if you want more or less width so it may be possible to fit the standard S16 through bar to a t31 and vise versa, which means you may only need the fit kit to change from one to another., if you try and run out of adjustment it means you need the next size up, but should not have any issues. So if you have S16 bars and that is what the whispbar website recommends, you can get a S15, or s17 on, if not sure which bar - measure and look on line.
I reckon it is worth spending an extra $30 to get the Whispbar.
The only hing I would say is if looking and want toys on the roof, don't get the Xtrail with the lights on the roof, the only option is to rivit the tracks to the roof and get legs tall enough to clear them.

Re: Roof Racks for T30 and T31

Hi All
I sell kayaks, roof racks and assessories for a job.

If fitting roof racks the best fit I have found comes from Rhino Racks. The vortex bars have a foot which fits perfectly and is a specised piece for the Xtrails T30 and T31 without the roof lights and fits the black flush rail.

I have fitted the Whispbars and Prorack ones to Xtrail T31 and it is harder work and I didn't like putting the covers back on and sitting the rack on top. Prorack are a bit cheaper and have a 3 year warranty and whispbar slightly more cost but have a life time warranty (life of the vehicle) Whispbar is known in Europe and States as Yakima and the name change will happen here soon.

It is the same rack and fit for a T30 and T31 and same fit kit. Yes the distances maybe slightly further apart or closer together but there is enough adjustment in the bars to allow for both.

The load rating given is usually for the vehicle in every situation such as high speed cornering and some small vehicles such as Suzuki Jimny's can only take 30kg, so if you attached a basket it would have to stay empty to be under the load rating even though the bars themselves can handle a lot more weight.
