**Will Nav headunit from TL plug'n'play into ST???(T31)**

As the title says, I'm wanting to find out if the headunit from a high spec TL will fit into a lower spec ST.

Have just purchased a T31 ST and want to install a reverse camera. I would rather keep things looking factory so I'm looking to see if the headunit with Nav & r/camera from the TL is a simple swap over into the ST? Not really concerned with nav though, mainly reverse camera.

Does anyome have any experience with this and can give an insight either way? Greatly appreciated.

First thing is to check your User Manual to see if both types of head unit are shown in it.
Then there might be things such as steering wheel controls that could be missing in your ST that are in the Ti. Usually the Xtrails have had the full harness installed in all models so you might even be able to get the additional controls and install them as well.

My suggestion is to pull out your existing head unit, make a note of the plugs and number of wires in each, then go to a local wrecker which has Ti and do the same to see what differences (if any) there are between the two units.

I also had research on the same matter with 2013 25195- CS80d Clarion head unit and gave up the job after bellow results

1. Basic audio system and xnavi infotainment system wiring are totally different
2. Xnavi required additional data sockets and controllers (such as vehicle speed, can BUS, angle sensor signal, 4 way camera controller input, Bose AMP connections, etc,,) which is not included in basic wiring harness
3. I made above ports on existing wiring harness and powered up, system ask unlock code when the power on. given code didn't work, tried many codes and system went lock mode
4. No idea whether Navi system had been connected to the ECU to original vehicle, I couldn't find the Xnavi donor vehicle ECU
5. Found that I need to crack the software, but no one confirms
6 Effort to get it work is not worth as the software of the Xnavi unit is developed in 2010, (no modern interface, no mirror link .
7. finally I installed Pioneer flagship model with all modern features

If anyone interest, try your own and share your success story
