Power options for dash cam (dashcam) into T31
OK, a couple of recent incidents means I’m really keen to have footage available in the future.
Nothing exotic needed, probably a pair (front and rear) of mini 80x or BlueSky B1W, but I’m really not happy with the power cable dangling down the windscreen or, for the rear one, risking it getting caught up in the tailgate. I’m not fussed about having parking footage capability, so happy to have the power turn off with the ignition.
So, for the front, how simple is it to remove the internal covers off the A pillar and does that then give you access somewhere vertically down through the dash to either the mini fuse casing on the lower right or through to the front aux power socket / cig lighter?
For the rear, is it relatively simple to remove the interior panels down the side of the tailgate and then access the tailgate wiring flexi tube to get into the boot itself, maybe to the aux power located there?
I’m keen:
1/ Not to reinvent the wheel. I’m guessing some of you have already had the pain and come up with a neat solution.
2/ Not to end up needlessly breaking internal trim / headlining fixings through not knowing a particular trim removal technique.
Thanks in advance
Daryl
