Beeping when going over bumps.

I have a couple year old Ti which has started to beep when ever I go over a bump. Things like speed bumps, big expansion gaps in the road, rough road etc.

It's not the regular beep that comes through the speakers like lane departure warnings. It's a more shrill "beep beep" noise. The beep is coming from behind the dash. Happens more on the front wheels than rear.

Can't find any reference to this type of beep, anyone got any ideas?

Re:

Is it an electronic type of beep and does anything light up on the dash when it happens?

Re:

I experienced this in a different car but might be worth investigating, it was the pasenger seatblet warning beep.

i put a small bag on passenger seat, every time I went over a bump the car would beep. drove me nuts until i figured out the bag was on the threshold of the weight sensor for the seat, and everytime the car went over a bump, the bag would activate the "some is sitting there" signal and the car would beep as the seat belt was not plugged in.

plug in the belt and see if anything changes.

Cheers

Re: Beeping when going over bumps.

I think my dad's T31 makes the same noises; it's not a consistent noise, the "beeps" aren't the same length or volume and we think we've narrowed it down to the aircon/vents behind the dash somewhere.
We've given up trying to work out what is causing it and have learnt to live with it.
Hope this helps you though emoticon

Re: Beeping when going over bumps.

It's definitely an electronic beep from the dash somewhere behind the glove box, but not the beep you get through the speakers for lane departure.

I think the seat belts might be an idea to check. My wife has started leaving light weight things on the rear seats. I'll plug them in and check it out. Thanks.

Unfortunately it's not the seat belts. Plugged them in and still beeps when i go over traffic humps.

Any one else seen this before?

Re: Beeping when going over bumps.

Still haven't solved this one, I've seen an odd behavior since new. Could someone with a similar car tell me if what I am seeing is normal. (Mine is a 2017 Xtrail Ti Petrol)

When I start the car I get an indicator that all three rear seat passengers do not have their belts buckled. Even if there is no one in the rear seats. This goes off after a minute or so. Doesn't happen all the time.

Also if I only have two passengers in the rear seat it shows three seats not buckled. When the passengers buckle up the middle one still shows as unbuckled.

Sounds like it might be some sensor connectors either loose or switched around. Check them and unplug/replug to make sure they are tight.

Re:

Do the rear seats also have weight sensors - if so my guess is a wiring issue or the control unit that runs that function - either way what is the Warranty on this vehicle as it sounds like a Factory type of fault.
No idea of the wiring but could there have been something short the plug out?
