T31 Running boards (side steps)

Hi all
I am looking for running boards or commonly known now as side steps as running boards produced all the admin stuff for my T31 with a M0R motor as I have young kids and also kayak so it is hard to get the kayaks on and off without opening doors.

I called the local nissan dealer here in NZ and they said no genuine ones since models were updated, also asked about nudge bars and they were massively over priced.

I would like black ones as the trim and roof racks are black on my navy T31.
What have others got?
What is recommended?
How much?
Shipping to New Zealand?
Aussie EBay?

Re:

Hi all,
Thanks for the replies and help - ahh hang on.
Found some on ebay, imported them, to NZ
Installed them - they look good, just cost me as much as the bars did to get them to NZ.
On the search for a bonnet high nudge bar next in chrome/stainless to go with the front grill and side running boards

Good Bloke,

Can you post pics of them, i'm interested to see how the look, and how much clearance do you lose with them?

Remember with Nudge bars if it's not genuine it could effect your airbag deployment and also if you are in an accident insurance companies may use that as a reason not to pay.

Cheers

Re:

I hope the pic shows, through, let me know if it doesn't, as I am not the most computer savvy person and will get a 10 year old to help me. Drop me a email address and I can email you direct pics if that works,

I have added a 30mm lift kit to the front of the vehicle in preparation for 235/70/17 wheels, as the standard ones are approx 12% under sized. The back is being done my next day off and will find out how much extra travel is in the rear suspension. The lift kit was found on Ebay and is rubber blocks added to the top of your suspension struts - the hardest part was finding the 3rd bolt - up under the plastic tray on the edge of the windscreen. remove the wind screen wiper and take out the plastic clips and you will find it.

Then the nudge bar - found in stainless for $350 NZ - if it has airbags they are very well hidden as I can't find them, so not worried

But here are the side steps - Ta daa!!
Yes ground clearance has been reduced more than I want, but I want to attack them with an angle grinder to help take out the extra. They mount with U bolts through the floor and holes in it. Over all happy with them and will help me get kayaks on and off the roof, plus help the kids get in and out.
Thanks
Andy

Hi Andy,

Is it easy to fix the side steps by ourselves? What type of equipment do we need?

Thanks

Re: T31 Running boards (side steps)

Hi Guys,

The below steps i purchased on ebay for $150 new.
Looking at the current pricing i definitely got a bargain.

Very easy to install, just need to be familiar with basic socket and flat wrenches!

Enjoy.

Re: Running boards

They were easy but a bit of a fiddle to fit as you have to use a U bolt onto a bracket, which hangs low, then the side step on this bracket.

I find they look ok but have a lot of flex to them so added an additional bolt through the floor to hold the front bracket up and stop it dropping, but not sure about the rear as it goes through a box section of floor.

It makes it possible for the kids to get in and out without help and I can reach most of the roof rack
