Front End Vibration under acceleration

I drove about 750km yesterday & a front end vibration surfaced 10km from the end of the journey whilst overtaking a road train in 5th gear. It’s more than just a missing wheel weight.

Does anyone have any ideas what it could be?

Re: Front End Vibration under acceleration

Drive shaft....
To confirm, find a large space, preferably concrete/asphalt, and do circles in first gear at low revs, with the steering wheel at full lock both left and right, listening for "clink, clink, clink' noises.

Re:

I tried doing figure 8’s & circles. No noises or clunks on full lock left or right on a flat concrete pad !

Re: Front End Vibration under acceleration

would changing rear wheels to front and vice versa eliminate wheel/tyre issues such as flat spots, balance etc??

cheers

Re: Front End Vibration under acceleration

What speed were you doing when overtaking the road train and were you doing that speed at other times through the trip ?

Driveshaft problems usually get felt around the 40-60kph where wheel alignment problems usually get felt at higher speeds.

Vibration

Front wheel vibration shakes the steering wheel.
Rear wheel vibration shakes 'whole car', you 'feel' it through the seat as such.

Sorry I posted about 'out of round tyres', but they give vibration all the time, not just when accelerating. So I deleted it.
