Thanks Kev,

I just lodged an enquiry.

These guys are not far from me. I had no idea they were there.

Re:

Hi Kev,

I got an answer back from Amayama and they cannot supply them here in Australia. Quite annoying.

Quote " Unfortunately, the requested parts are classified as 'Export Only' and are not available through Amayama. This means that these items are for a non-Japanese market version of your vehicle or for a vehicle that was not built in Japan. We are unable to supply these parts as stocks of it are not kept in Japan."

Wondering if anyone else has sourced after market control arms?

Never had anything like that before.
How and what did you try to order ?

Part numbers are 545018H31A and 545008H31A.
Search for them on the site by part number and the sources are usually from UAE or Japan with UAE mostly cheaper but longer shipping time.

Re: T30 Control arm replacements and how to!

I gave them the year, make, model plus VIN and model number from the data plate and of course the part names, right hand drive etc

Anyway, after being dicked around, I ordered some after market ones that I can pick up locally.

I put in your part numbers on their site and they do appear as you suggested. Oh well. Not too sure how the sales rep could not work it out from the details provided.

To be honest its not a long term proposition and will be moving to new or newer car within 12 months so hopefully they will last that long. Doing a lot of highways driving at present. Very little of the bitumen.

Thank you for your help.

Re:

In case anyone is reading, I used the Sterling after market control arms at about $180 each. Installed them myself in a few hours. All went well and so far so good. It's tightened up the front end a bit. The old ones had some significant cracks / tears in places after 200,000 k's.

Of course I had a wheel alignment asap after the change.

Has anyone had any experience with control arms off Ebay?

After a few years of hard driving offroad, the time has come to do mine and I am struggling to find reputable brands.

Seems like they can be had for $190 a set + postage.
Some even advertise a 5 year warranty (no idea how good the warranty policy is).

Struggling to find any control arms other than the superpro which I don't want to use due to the stiffness.

OEM are crazy expensive now. The only other option seems to be eBay generic ones at around $300 but no way I'm buying them.

Any other good tested options that come in under $600 or under and use rubber bushings not that stiff crap.

Unfortunately they aren't shipping to aus atm due to covid. They are around $350 each which I'd pay though.

Ended up just getting superpro. See how they go.

Re: T30 Control arm replacements and how to!

I just replaced the shocks all round on my X-Trail, which is now on 155k kms. I got a great deal on 4 Ultima shocks from autopartsdirect2u.

While I was changing them I noticed some tears in the lower control arm bushes. So I guess thats the next suspension job.

Was wondering, like many others, if the Ebay $200 for a pair deal are any good? Has anyone fitted them and have a report? Mainly interested in how long they will last.
