T31 TL HID Low beam not working

I have a 2011 TL with the HID headlights

The low beam recently stopped working, I just replaced the stupidly expensive bulbs which hasn't fixed the problem. The fuses are also fine..

Any ideas? I don't want to have to take it to an auto electrician, being such a new car .. Ridiculous, my 1992 Mitsubishi Delica with standard bulbs has never had a problem!

Re:

It might not be the HID bulbs that are blown, rather the gas discharge ballast. You'll need to visit the auto electrician for diagnosis.

Re:

Yeah I thought that. Local electrician wants $55 just to have a look and doesn't seem to know much about HID lights, will try someone in the bigger town near me

Re: T31 TL HID Low beam not working

OK. Now that you've proven that you have 0 volts at the headlight plug, go online and buy a pair of REPUTABLE HID ballasts. OK, they're going to be a bit dearer than the "kinda works for a while" type, but they're worth it. Unfortunately, HIDs all have this problem, and all you can do is keep replacing globes and ballasts. Sorry.
Don't bother with the auto electrician, you've already proven the problem.

Re:

Actually, spend a bit more a buy reputable brand ballasts like Bosch for example. I don't think that Nissan sells them that expensive either, so check with them first.
