Re: Oversized Tires on T30? Is it possible, anyone done it?

I have read the thread but cannot come to a conclusion on my issue...

I have a T30 2005. Stock tires are 215 65 16. Aluminum rims.
I have installed old man emu springs and want the tallest, thinnest tires I can install without issues or changing rims. I run on desert mountain roads which are mainly solid, but very rocky. I do not see any sand or mud around this part of the Arizona desert.

I think the best bet is 225 75 16. Please confirm or deny....

thanks for you thoughts!

With my 50mm strut lift I have 225/70/16 with no problems.
The extra profile size to 75 might be a problem depending on how high your OME springs lift is.
Possibly look at 215/75/16 ?

Yeah I'm running 225/75/16 BFGs and they don't scrub or any thing. I don't have a lift kit or any thing, they just fill the guards nicely..

Speedo is out by about 5 kms at 100km/hr.. So I just sit 5 kms under at each speed lol

Hi Guys,

i just purchased some rims similar to 'Sunraysia Rims' and put some Aplus (chinese brand) 235/70R 16's on my Xtrail.

Fit and don't rub at all. Here is what they look like emoticon

It will be interesting to know how they go with full up and down flex Pete.
My 225/70/16 Geo's only rub slightly on the left side under full upward flex on full right lock.

Thanks Tony, I got it now, never had to measure the outside diameter in inches before LOL emoticon

Anyway, your current tyre size is actually 28.4" in diameter and the largest you can go in 15" tyres would be 235/75/15 which would make them 28.9" in diameter and these will throw your speedo out by 1.5% which is acceptable. They will also fill out the wheel arch by an extra 6mm which is acceptable and won't rub.

You can further experiment with different tyre sizes and the impact they may cause by using the tyre size calculator found in the technical section of our site HERE

I'm seriously looking into fitting my T30 with a Yoko Geo AT/S of 235/75/15 as in Malaysia somehow is the smallest size i could find. Can anyone help me in confirmation that this size fits a stock T30 as I'm basing on Jala post that it wont rub. If anyone has actually fit in this size i would appreciate that some enlightenment on it.

Re: Oversized Tires on T30? Is it possible, anyone done it?

So I took the plunge and put on 225x75 16 General Grabber AT 2 on the T30.
They do scrub at full lock, and the rears almost rub on the little flange on the rear of each rear wheel well.

If I was doing it again, I would go smaller....live and learn.

However, I LOVE the tires. They have improved the ride and have great traction on the rocky roads in the AZ hills.
I am running 25 pounds pressure. Did the chalk test and the pressure seems to be fine as far as even wear.

Re:

I have 225/75 16 And I often think I could get bigger tires on, there is a lot of space, 235/75 16 would be better.
