Costco tractor juice... opinions?

Hey all!

So after much reading and digesting about diesel X Trail ownership ( new owner ), I've read a lot about low ash DPF recommend oils and running vortex/ultimate diesel fuels etc... I regularly used Costco diesel in my Patrol (just traded for the Exy) and my old Disco, with no issues... they also never had a DPF...

Do any Brisveganites, or any Sydney/Melb owners, use Costco diesel fuel? If so, any issues or praise? DPF issues, economy etc

Cheers!

Re:

This is my personal opinion, so make of it as you wish. I have two diesel cars that have a DPF. My wife's car is a Mazda 3 BL MZR-CD 2.2 Lt Turbo Diesel and mine is a Nissan Xtrail T32 TL 4WD. The Mazda was our first diesel car and I did a lot of research before I bought it. There was grumblings of DPF issues with the Mazda diesel, mainly from not working the motor enough and using poor quality fuel. I have only put premium diesel from Shell, Catlex or BP into the car and I have never experienced a DPF issue and it has done 150,000 km and it has great fuel economy. I continued this practice when I bought the T32 TL last year. I have now done 55,000 km in the TL and again I haven't had a DPF issue and I am achieving excellent fuel economy.

I make sure both cars have regular long run at highway speeds (I work in Canberra during the week and drive home to Sydney on weekends). Here in Canberra Costco is only 1 or 2 cents cheaper than the Caltex across the road, so I have no problems paying the little extra for some peace of mind.

I've used it with my Ssangyong Stavic (2.7l 5cyl Turbo), LandRover Discovery TD5 (2.5l 5cyl turbo) and my father's motorhome (VW 2.7l 5Cyl turbo) and never had any problems. There's a cleaning additive added (from the Costco website)

What you're talking about is 'practice'.... which should be banned as a performance enhancer!
