Re:
This is a T30 Series II Nudge Bar and will not the fit the T31 at all.
Your mate must have an older model T30 (Series I), so that's why it didn't fit his exy.

Re:
It will only fit the Series I T30 x-trail, as the shape of the bumper is different for the Series I compared to yours which is a Series II (Series I is 2001 to mid 2003)
More on that in THIS thread.

Re: Nudgebar install templates required
So I've bit the bullet on a 2004 T30 Ti until I get my shed built and then look for a 2011 T31 TL later. Its got nothing, so I'm starting with a nudge bar from a wrecker until I find a ECB tubular alloy bull bar for the 'right' price. I've got the 4 pages of installation instructions, but I'm concerned about drilling the top hole in the right place without the metal or paper templates. Any advice on that? What we really need is a diagram/photos with some measurements from identified reference points to mark the centre of the holes, so there's no need for the templates? I'm happy to pay postage if someone has these templates, and I'll make up the measurement phots/diagrams for everyone else later, and also send on the templates to anyone who asks. A sorta 'pass it on' arrangement?
Can anyone help me out please?
--- 2004 T30 series II, Ti (now sold)
JRR50 Pathfinder, QD32ETi Turbo Diesel, with 'lots o fruit'.
2012 Jeep Cherokee KK CRD Limited is current ride.
Will be looking for a white or silver 2011-2013 T31 TL (Diesel) to "pimp out".
