Yep, it requires lifting a little, but not half way through or standing there and looking at it lift up slowly, with almost no pressure at all in the struts. The video showing the operation of the stainless bonnet struts is available on online shop web page HERE if anyone wants to compare.

I can recommend the sokietech gas struts for the T30. I got a pair 8 years ago and still working fine. The only thing I had to do different from the instructions was mount the top bracket between the hinge and the bonnet to make it fit.
