Re:

T30 2005 X-Trail 2.0 Liter Petrol with automatic gearbox QR20DE Engine.
My car has some 141,000 Km now.
I tow a 2000+ Kg Boat rig with 2 axles 4 disc brakes.
It is above recommended car specs.
I have replaced the transmission fluid and filter myself 2 years ago.
Towing in temperatures of 40+ deg C.
No major issues.
The trans uses a cooler built on the lower part of the radiator.
On a very steep hill some 2-3 km I tow in 1 gear because on auto the gearbox hunts between 1st and second gear.
Last time I towed was summer 2014 with +40 deg heat, the engine temp started rising so I immediately shut the ac off and pith the cabin heating to full hot with the fan on full.
Immediately the temp gauge went down ...
BUT this particular long and steep drive is the exception.
Under other conditions I can tell you the car handles well considering it has about 138 hp.
