Reset the ECU in cabin without disconnecting the battery
Reset ECU without disconnecting the battery or pulling fuses
Did a quick forum search & couldn't find anything similar to this method.
I've been using this on my 2007 nissan skyline & have also done this on a 2006 350z so this method should work for most nissans 2006+ if not earlier.
Read the process a few times before you try to do this its ALL ABOUT TIMING:
1) Put the car on ACC mode (cars with intelligent key press the start button twice with foot off the brake to put car in acc mode)
2) Within three seconds of the car "ACC" (again NOT started), Floor (all the way down) and Release the accelerator pedal fully 5 times within 5 seconds.
Do not do this too fast.. 1..2..3..4..5
3) Wait 7 seconds then floor the accelerator pedal and hold for 10 seconds. After that 10 seconds the Check Engine Light will start to blink slowly.
4) Release the pedal and floor it down once again and hold for 10 seconds. After these 10 seconds the check engine light will disappear then begin to flash much more rapidly. After you have done the following turn the car off and then back on.
The ECU is now reset!!
Again, this reset is all about timing, if it does not work for you, try try again until it does!
I have included a video of this demonstrating the process, my car is a 2012 series 5 xtrail & as said earlier I have used the same method on other older nissan models.
Youtube link
Give it a try, I'd be interested to see if this works for the T30 as well
There are plenty of benefits & reasons you would want to reset the ECU which I will not go into detail on here, hopefully this makes it easier/quicker for you guys in future

Re:
Thanks Jason, very handy indeed.
Can I please ask you to copy your post into the existing thread HERE which talks about the T31 ECU re-set.

Re: Reset the ECU in cabin without disconnecting the battery
I recently had a single cat back exhaust fitted and have noticed an increase in fuel usage, currently on my third tank of diesel. I have tried a number of times to re-set the ECU using this method without success. Has anyone successfully re-set their ECU on a diesel using this method?
