Re: Scareyann's new Red exy.
Hi Scarey,
Although it's a while ago now, on my trip to Broome in 2011 I used Kununurra (mil issue) & Broome Nissan (service) & found both of them to be very helpful. At the time the exy was salary sacrificed so can't help with costs.

Re:
Any of the caravan parks or motels in Kal are fine. Just lock anything valuable up. Use Wikicamp app for bush campsites too. Fantastic app. Got a mate doing the Gibb River. Will ask him about the conditions when he gets back. Last I heard the road is really easy. Karijini is a must. There are pastoral stations around the Shark Bay area and along the coast that also provide accommodation. Have a look at them. Farmstay website is useful but it doesn't have all the stations though. Hamelin Station 100km from Denham is a nice little station to stay at. Facilities are really good.
Get a parks pass from the Department of Parks and Wildlife to save some money if you intend to visit a few national parks. I got a Blackvue dashcam which I've been using to plot and record my trips. Get Kingston microSD cards off ebay. The Sandisk ones are crap.
If you are driving from Broome, bypass Port Hedland, go to Karijini, not sure if need permit to travel on the Great Northern Hwy through aboriginal communities, then back up to Roebourne if you want to. Travel the Ningaloo coast to the SW region. On the way you can drop by Exmouth, Ningaloo Reef, the Pinnacles and Shark Bay/Francois Peron National Park. You'll go through Perth to get to the SW. The caves at Margaret River are a must at least once, south to Walpole then east to Albany. The Stirling Ranges is absolutely beautiful and Bluff Knoll is the only place in WA that has snow. From Albany go north to Hyden, to Yellowdine via Emu Fence Hill or to Merredin then Kalgoorlie or do the Holland Track from Hyden to Coolgardie if it's dry. From Kalgoorlie, go north on the bitumen to Menzies and Lake Ballard and take the dirt road from Kookynie back to Kalgoorlie. From Kal go to Esperance and visit the beaches. From Esperance go east on Fisheries Rd then take Parmango Rd which will join up with Balladonia Rd to Balladonia. From Balladonia go east on the Eyre Hwy. You'll see most of WA that way I think.
