Wheel Alignment question ?

Hi All,

I'm seeking some advice on the information provided in the attached Wheel alignment reports. I'm not a mechanic, so I need a bit of education on what it all means.

My Exxy was fine up until I had the W/A done in DEC 2014. The WA I had done in OCT 2015, the Tech said the previous WA was way off spec. So now the tyres really "humm" - very loudly, like chunky 4x4 tyres, but they're Cooper CS4's - they were quite......

Tyre Power QLD State Office, summary reply. Our WA's are only covered for month, we don't now what you've done to the car (aka I've stuffed it somehow - but I only do road driving in Brisbane). I took it Ultratune in SEPT 2015 - they gave it a clean bill of health, that is, it's quite when running up on the ramp. But when it's the road, it's so loud I thought the bearing may be stuffed.

I'm thinking TyrePower stuffed up, but I'm not sure. I'm trying to work out did they do the W/A's to the Nissan "T30"spec ?. Yes it's a 2006 T30 not a T31 as listed on the reports. Does anyone think I have a case or am I kidding myself and put up with the noising humming tyres ?.

I've been reading up - it's toe and heel. Any thoughts on how the toe changed so much doing normal road driving - something worn out ?

Cheers
Glenn

Hi Glen,

If you edit your post and convert your links to the "thumbnail" links instead, then we will be able to click on them to see a larger picture and read your reports to help you.

Re: Wheel Alignment question ?

It does not look like they have done a 4WD alignment, just a frontwheel alignment.
Also get them to explain the figures on their printout to you.

Re:

Hi Kev,

yep, you're spot on - they 1/2 did the first WA, didn't do the second WA and third was done properly, all be that they were all done to T31 specs. In the end all sorted, WA done to T30 specs, balanced. Just a shame the tyres continue will hummmm due to the heel and toe wear.

Lesson from all this:
Tyre warranties are not worth the paper they're written on
Don't "trust" they've done a good job just because you sat in the office for 30 mins while they did "stuff" to your car. Read and understand the report - compare the before and after numbers to the specs.
