Re:
Alignment isn't the issue, mate.. trailing arm suspension means the further away from the body the arm gets (when lifted) the closer the tyre gets to the front of the wheel well.

Re:
wrong.....
the rear suspension is one complet sub-frame. packing the spring increases the swingarm angle which may cause some issues, but if you put blocks/packers in between the sub-frame to body and the swingarm pivots also you effectively do not change any of the geometry, including halfshafts/cv shafts.
the only things that will change slightly, is the drivesgaft/tail-shaft angle, but not too the extent somone else mentioned in another thread, also exhaust clearance will be tight, on the stock systems.
i have the TL t31 and have the kings ready to put in, raised 30mm as advertised, will advis of this effect prior to laser/waterjettung some packer blocks, fro fron and rear, but only after the springs have settled and levelled out.not before....
Ive had the car on hoist numerous times now, taking measurements everytime, will confirm and show with pics.
In response to above post, the rear, top spring perches are part of the same subframe in which the whole rear assy articulates/pivots from.
any Q's just ask.

I was wholly setup to do exactly that, I still have the blocks ready in my shed; just never got around to doing it as I'd need to borrow a few jacks stands to completely separate the subframe from the car. Just a shame I have no xtrail anymore haha. You mentioned you're making your own packer blocks? Not sure how you're planning to use those on the front though? You can't space a subframe on the front as there isn't really one? You can only space the strut from the shell (if you made your own strut spacers, as nobody else does) or space the spring from the strut (coil spacers, also not specifically available for the xtrail although can still be done as I did that to mine using coil spacers from japan for a toyota ae70). Also, I'm pretty sure the top coil mount on the rear of the t31 is actually mounted to the body? I remember having trouble with this as even if I spaced the subframe, I still needed a separate pair of coil spacers to achieve any gain in actual ground clearance for the rest of the body (which were damn near impossible to source as the perch for the top of the rear springs is quite narrow).
If you've figured out a way to make it work though, then I'm all eyes/ears, just make sure you take plenty of photos and try not to sit on your arse too long like I did haha
