Vibrations

I have noticed a minor vibration in my T32 2WD ST when travelling at round 70 km/h. Also, minor shudder on hard take-off. Mentioned this to Service at my Dealership. Response was 'this is a characteristic of CVT and will improve with more kms'.

Any other member with similar issues?

Your post was moved to the correct section of the forum. The introductions section is for introductions only. Thanks.

If you are worried about the shudder, take the car to another Nissan dealer for a 2nd opinion.

Re: Vibrations

I have also experience some sort of occasional shudder at take offs. My X-Trail has almost clocked up 9000km now and those shudders have been existent since day one. I believe this is a characteristic of a CVT gearbox. I have Z51 Nissan Murano with CVT and those shudders happen with that car as well. I think it is due to a belt suddenly dropping to a 'lower gear' if you know what you mean although technically CVT doesn't have any gears.

What I have however also noticed is that when I am stationary and gear lever is in D, let say at a traffic lights, I experience minor vibration to the whole car. I can even visibly see bonnet vibrating. When I put gear stick to P those vibrations disappear. Has anyone experience the same vibrations?

It should not be doing that. Take it back to the dealer and get it addressed under warranty before they can claim that further damage is your fault because you didnt alert them to the initial problem!

Re:

I will address this issue with my dealer at the next service which hopefully will be next week. Ill let you know what they have said. I have a friend who works there so hopefully they won't just come up with any excuse to brush me off. Cheers.

Re: Re:

There should be no shudder whatsoever in a properly functioning CVT gearbox.

Transmission of power to the wheels should be seamless with only a sensation of being pushed back into the seat when you apply the accelerator.
