OBX IKH16

Sorry late reply was just doing some late night parts catalogue trawling (as you do)

The IKH16 is a Denso part number which is the cross ref to LFR5AIX-11. That's their "Iridium Power" line which has a groove in the electrode, the VKH16 is also available which is the same but lasts for 100,000Kms as it has a platinum tip on the electrode (I have had the same make of plug in my 2007 Corolla from the factory and yes, it did last and work just fine up till 100,000Kms)

Denso mentions they make a part for the T31 now in iridium - VFXEH20.

For Denso plugs often Toyota dealers can be the best places to get (as Denso and Toyota are very much joined at the hip) otherwise if not in a hurry then overseas is usually pretty cheap

Cool, I keep forgetting there is a T31 section... anyway those parts IKH16 and VKH16 are right for the T30

Re:

Well i was up to replacement time on the NGK Iridium IX's so I had a look around at these again. Looks like NGK now have a platinum ground tipped Iridium plug (Iridium Max) to have a longer service life but don't seem readily available just yet (P on the end of the part no e.g. LFR5AIX-11P) , and they're starting to use Ruthenium in some newer plugs. Lots of new stuff I guess...

Anyway I got a set of IKH16 Denso Iridium Power from Amayama (was about $47 all up, last set of NGKs was 75 or 80...) and fitted them this morning. The NGKs were old (at least 55,000 km) and the ground had seen better days, gaps were pretty big on two of them. Seemed a little smoother to start, haven't noticed much else with it but i have got a new clutch and fitted a new air filter to contend with.

I've pulled the ECU fuses to see if that changes things a little, might have to give it an IAVL
