Bad vibration under load
G'day everyone, I have a 2004 ST T30 petrol auto thats done a lots of kilometres but I have done heaps of regular servicing and maintenance to it also. Recently I replaced a head gasket, had the head reconditioned and all the good stuff that goes with that project.
Before the head gasket blew the car started to vibrate when driven, that is to say it vibrates thru the body and floor (feels like its more from the LH side) of the car from about 20kms per hour. When parked and at idle she runs smooth and quiet, at any rev range all is normal and smooth.
Since getting her back on the road from the head gasket job, the vibration is progressively getting worse as at 50kms an hour it shakes the dashboard so hard you worry it will fall apart.
So now she's home in the drive way while I work out what to do next. For the record there is no vibration sensation in the steering at all, wheels are all balanced. About 500kms back I had the cv joints and front hubs and bearings replaced , so that area is all good too.
I have read pages and pages here in the forum on vibration but don't see this same issue. Any help full suggestions welcome.

Re:
Although I doubt it is the Crank and CAM sensors, it is worth replacing them both as they can stop working any time now and the same applies for the fuel filter is your mileage is over 100,000kms, as it needs to be changed every 100K.

Re: Bad vibration under load
My guess would be transmission mounts or rear suspension. Rear suspension issues can often feel like they are coming from the front of the car.
Try putting it in Auto or Lock mode to see if sending drive to the rear wheels makes any difference.

Re: Bad vibration under load
Sorry can't help you there as I no longer own an X-Trail. The fact that sending drive to the rear wheels makes it better to drive makes me lean towards transmission mounts but I wouldn't completely discount rear suspension just yet.
Also worth noting that above 80km/h the car will revert back to 2wd.
