T32 - Nissan Connect Hi all.
Can anyone tell more a little more about Nissan Connect on this model.
It seems that it is the name of the tech they use for their audio/info system. ( like connecting your phone etc)
What concerns me is that it is free for the first 3 years, how much does it cost after that to have your phone connected to the car? And why is an ongoing charge needed?
Maybe I have missed something but everything I have read doesn't seem like it should be a subscription to use it.

Re:
Not the most interactive and user friendly interface when you want to use google or facebook.... The Nissan Connect is more of a gimmick.... you are better off just using your phone.
I used Nissan Connect once when I first installed it on my phone and connected up with my vehicle, and never touched it since.

Re: In the good old U.S of A it is $20 a year. So considering everything costs more over here I'm guessing between $20 & $30. Same as vivre, I am not bothered, I prefer using my iPhone 5. If I need to look up something I certainly don't want to do it while I'm driving and if my wife is with me she just uses one of the phones to google stuff. I could not think of anything worse than being on Facebook while I'm driving hahaha

Re: I have the Nissan connect app on my iPhone5, all registered with the VIN number etc but the car still won't recognise it. I've even tried hooking up via the cable, still no go. It just tells me their is no smartphone connected. It's a PITA!

Re: so as I understand this, it is just a link to the phone - you can do functions like search, play music etc but it goes through/uses your phone , a bit like just a second screen - so why does there need to be a charge for this function?
You can buy car stereos that have all these functions and your phone is connected etc but there is no yearly charge to do it. Look at the Sony models.
Can someone explain what it does that they need to charge for (I thought it must have 3G/4G built in but it seems no).
BTW what people are doing with their iphones like Siri, reading sms's etc Android does exactly the same and for a long time.
