My DBA slotted rotors and Bendix 4WD pads are still doing well all round. For general driving, I didn't notice a lot of difference, but I've had to do a few emergency stops lately, and they really do, as I think it was Kev who said, "stop on a sixpence".

Re: Re:

Sorry Coocht31 forgot to add that important detail.

No, the standard 16inch wheels do not fit over these calipers. It's very close but not quite.

Re: Brakes

I've finally had the DBA Slotted Rotors and Bendix 4WD pad upgrade done at the 10,000km service. Around town there is no real difference until you need to do a panic stop.

However, the biggest and most noticeable improvement is when you are out on the open road when you have to bury the brake pedal to the floor to avoid a roo. The difference between the standard rotors & brake pads is amazing.

This is when the DBA's prove beyond a doubt why they should be fitted at the factory as standard.

Or a cow, or a big black boar. But those roos, there's no real alternative to actually stopping, since it's 50/50 whether they will jump away or straight into you as you get level with them.

Your percentages are wrong trailx...you forgot about when they jump away, then change their mind, and jump back in front emoticon

Going to fit Remsa rear pads (0876.01) to the rear of the T30 before we go on a big trip... will report back how they are once bedded in. Supposedly pretty good for the price and rated to 650C. Hopefully they fix the slight squeak I am getting from the rear pads when coming to a stop along with a hub cleanup and rotate the rotor around on the hub (wish I had a dial runout gauge)

Also not x-trail related but I fitted RDA extreme pads to the back of the Corolla along with new toyota OEM pads up front... sheesh... once they get some heat in em they really bite, bit dusty but who cares, dust can be washed off emoticon Much better than Bendix GCT i had on there before. For $55 a pair I reckon they are pretty good for the price but the Remsas are not much more ($79 for rear and $85 for front)

Re:

Remsa pads on the back, have done around 1400KMs on them (Syd-Mel-Adel), no squeaking, haven't noticed any dust, mostly highway so infrequent stops though. Turns out the pads were in the wrong way round which might have caused the squeaking (raised points on pad plates sit right under caliper if in the wrong way). Since it's just in the back I can't really tell any brake feel or power change, would have to do the front to really notice. When the fronts are due if I still have the car I will put Remsas up front too and see how I go

Well, front rotors were shuddering and wife complained about the cheapo Busons pads up front squealing and poor pedal feel. Went and got new non slotted rotors and Remsa pads for front, so remsa all round now. Still breaking in, but seem very good. Dida couple of very harsh stops and I'll get my faceprint off the glass later emoticon

Front rotors and pads were from brakes direct/GSL rally sport. 75 for rear pad set, 90 for front. Rotors on clearance, 23 bucks each!
