Re: Re:
well my exy has been pretty sick recently but the fuel ecconomy is still shocking
my last tank was a 51L fill after 680km = 7.5L/100km
Wir lacht eins.
Glad to hear your sensor problem has been resolved in your earlier thread today.
It seems that you, Maddy and I are at the cutting edge of fuel economy for the 2.5L version AWD's.
Meddy and I have logged on to Jalalski's Spritmonitor site to give fuel performance on the Global scale.
Spritmonitor: Jalalski
Then Meddy started his own identity & login. Slightly better performance as the car wore in.
He's the other Australian under 9L/100km
At the moment, I have the most economical 2,5L petrol X-Trail in the world on that site.
Some of the figures you have posted here leave me idling in neutral as you seem to run even more efficiently. Kudos.
I invite you to log a few thousand km of fuel usage onto the Spritmonitor site so we may do more direct comparisons.
The Spritmonitor site shows my average around 8.4 L/100km (over 28K+ km) and I know there must be other people doing the same or better, but there is no data to show that.
Personally, I think it would be good to have wider competition to find the most economical petrol 2.5L AWD X-Trail - IN THE WORLD..
Is anyone keen to have a go at that?.

Re:
I would have loved the opportunity to lend my exy to one of you guys for tank-full to see how you manage to squeeze so many kms out of a tank
It must be some kind of magic or your driving your exy's downhill in neutral all the time

Re: Fuel consumption (T30 & T31 2.5LT Petrol Versions)
All I have to do to improve the fuel economy in our X trail is take over the driving, the distance to empty just starts rising even towing a 1 tonne boat. Wife must think the throttle only has two positions.

Re:
Hi Guys;
Just purchased a 2010 t31 2.5 auto X trail.
After driving around the burbs for about 200 k I hit the highway for a further 254k.
I used a total of 42 litres giving me an average milage of 9.3 l/100k or 30mpg old school.
Not too shabby, until I compare it to my Ford falcon 4.2 litre falcon which gets 9l/100k or 30,9 mpg doing the same driving.
There are, of course, differences such as coefficient of wind resistance, gearing and the fact that the ford is a serious heap of crap.
The X Trail is more comfortable in that I can get in or out without hitting my head on the damn roof, or twisting my knee on the dam pedals or hurting my back contorting myself to fit into the ford.
(I have a back injury, and getting out is something to see, Imagine a big fat bloke crawling out of a car on his hands and knees so he dont have to twist to get out of the damn ford)
In addition, I expect that the X Trail will get better milage than the ford around town.
The ford hits 13-16l/100k non highway driving.
and with the boat on this gets up around 20-22l/100k, it really hates the boat.
Am I sorry I bought the X Trail to replace old Fix Or Repair Daily?
Not on your nelly, I love the X Trail, The little loss of power is just a trade off for comfort and ease of access and egress.
And the space in the back is fantastic.
Its considerably quieter than I expected too, Being a small truck, I expected a very noisy ride, like my old Honda Civic, but no, a little wind noise and a bit of tyre noise and you dont even hear the motor unless you give it some.
9-10l/100k, OK by me.
