Complete pricing I received was as follows.
Towbar $430
Towbar wiring kit (comes with square plug) $120
Towbar ball $15
Towbar wiring adaptor for round plug $20
If preston Nissan have the bar and kit for $520 that looks like the best price, seems like all the same ball park.
Yes, depends where you are!. I have gone with Jarvins and am picking the gear up myself because it's more or less local.
Cheers,

A lot of the 4WD shops realy only know the ins and outs of the most common 4bys, Patrol and Landcruiser.
I would not listen to these guys and just fit the harness in, it will work without any problems.
And it does. Today I hooked up my old school trailer with regular tungsten globes. No problems. So no special relay box, no protection for the cars computer, nothing but a plug and play wiring harness.

Re: Towbar wiring for T31
Yeah, I'm very happy too. After the mass of misinformation about what LED tail lights on Series 5 mean, and stuff about the cars computer needing protection, everything from system meltdown to the car's wiring gauge being too light!
Jalal, did you post the two sets of instructions I emailed you (the wiring and the towbar installation)?
It seems (in my experience at least) factory bar and loom, if got at the right price, and installed by a together outfit, is the way to go.
YMMV.

Re: Towbar wiring for T31
Cookie,
My experience (well documented on these pages) tells me that unless you have a heap of time up your sleeve you are better off getting a reputable accessories shop to fit the bar and loom for you. Basically the entire boot lining needs to come out to access the connection points for the loom and the rear bumper has to come off and be cut for the bar. Nothing I couldn't have done myself but on a brand new car I wanted some come back if it went pear shaped. Preston Nissan had a better price than the one you quote.
Cheers,
Phil
