Re:
I used a length of garden hose and cut a 3L bottle in half as the funnel, haha. Worked a treat!

Re: Replace Gearbox,Transfer Case and Rear Diff Oils. T30 5sp 2002
Do not overfill - It does not always take 2.2L!
I did my manual transmission oil a month or two ago and, reading the manual, it says you have to use the special tool (of course) to measure the distance down from the top of the fill hole. I ended up putting in less than 2L. Hope you all have not overfilled!
Instructions are on page MT-11 of the 2006 manual. The level is supposed to be quite a ways from the top of the filler hole, around 170mm. I made a T shaped tool out of baling wire which was ~170mm long. When I'd put in enough oil so it was touching the tip of the baling wire, I sealed it up.

Id like to know if anyone can confirm this?
I took one of the drive shafts out (going to replace both shafts as complete unit, easier than finding a inner cv boot lol) and the oil was above the level of the seal, I didnt think it would be over the shaft seal.
And that Castrol VMX-80 is the right oil
Cheers.

Re: Replace Gearbox,Transfer Case and Rear Diff Oils. T30 5sp 2002
Hi Gary,
Only one of the driveshafts need to be removed from the transmission. The driver's side unbolts from the extension shaft.
I replaced both of my driveshafts just a few weeks ago and I only lost what wouldn't have been any more than a teaspoon of oil out of the passenger's side so I have not worried about topping it up.
Mine is an auto though.

No.
I only turned the wheel to the far left and worked from underneath to access both the filler and drain plugs.
The drain plug is very tight though and I found it best to use a socket hex-key set for it
