Re:
Surely if you follow the instructions supplied it should be sufficient for any insurance company.
The guys in the shop should install the bar as per instructions anyway.
They must be followed to the letter though.

Re:
Am not doing this again mate. Kris can tell you my response to him earlier today. (sorry, you may have missed it, as it went over a full page of this thread)
The guys at the shop are qualified fitters and authorized by ECB to fit the nudge bar, you guys are not! That's the main difference. The insurance company can use that excuse to claim that it wasn't fitted professionally and they'll be 100% correct.
Nudge bars are airbag impacting accessories, so when it comes to them, leave it to the professionals and have a peace of paper proving the install was carried-out as such.

Re:
The brackets on the own could end up costing you half the price of the bar.
Do your homework first and ring around to get prices on brackets before it's too late.

Re: Nudge Bars & Bullbars for the new X-Trail T31
Well a pig came out of the scrub onto the bituman road - didn't see it till it was on the road. Slowed down in enough time. Same with a sheep - this was all in full daylight.
To me, my Tuff bar would have handled the situation, as I kept my speed down with vegetation on side of the road and could slow down easy. Thanks to a reminder from a member about this. Also I was not towing anything.
I was thankful I had spent the money on a good bar, if I had hit, minor damage may have occurred at point of impact, with just a bump bar, I am thinking that at point of impact, more damage would have been there. The reason is that mud guards and even the radiator area, depending on the bump bar, could have sustained pretty serious damage even at low speed. Obviously, higher speeds will increase damage - does not matter what you have on the front.
